Licensed Holistic Counselor, Board Certified Functional Nutritionist, Experienced Yoga Therapist, Licensed Massage Therapist, Reiki Master Teacher, Healing Touch Practitioner CranioSacral Therapist
I am Licensed as a Practical Counselor, Certified at the Master’s Level in Addiction Counseling, Certified in Employee Assistance with 30+ years of experience and previous employment as The Clinical Director of a National Employee Assistance Program, and Professor and Administrator at two Universities. Also a Certified Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist, I am further trained in various energy and alternative techniques including EMDR (Eye Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing), NET (NeuroEmotional Technique) TFT (Thought Field Therapy), EMI (Eye Movement Integration) and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) as well as in cognitive, behavioral, humanistic and psycho-dynamic therapies. The study of Transpersonal Psychology has continued more than 30 years. This is my base: the human potential movement, in which a mind/body awareness and healthy ego can be transcended into a global/spiritual awareness.
I am a Licensed Holistic Counselor, Board Certified Functional Nutritionist, Experienced Yoga Therapist, Licensed Massage Therapist, Reiki Master Teacher, Healing Touch Practitioner and CranioSacral Therapy Practitioner. In my broad training as a Nutritionist and Massage therapist, as well as many years as a Therapeutic Yoga teacher, I am equipped with extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biochemistry and pathology that allow for a greater ability to incorporate physiology into assessment of mental wellness. This allows me to both rule out and assess physiological imbalance that may impact emotional states, and vice versa. I am able to intervene at many levels and manifestations of imbalance. With a Certification and License in Nutrition, I can recommend supplements and herbs, as well as lifestyle practices like diet. Diet can greatly impact mental health and offer alternatives for psychotropic medications that often cause as many (or more) problems than they solve. This approach seeks to heal imbalance at the cause rather than treating only symptoms. An addictions specialist for 30 years, I have expertise and experience in managing withdrawal from psychotropic medications and in using directed supplementation to enhance recovery success.

Having worked many years with energy therapies in yoga (yoga is energy therapy, largely supplied by pranayama (breath work), asana (postures) and meditative forms), in Psychology (Eye Movement Integration, NeuroEmotional Technique, EMDR , TFT and EFT) and in Massage, (Shiatsu, Acupressure, Thai Yoga Massage) and having experienced many subtle energy phenomena in meditation, lucid dreams and astral travel, Energy Healing and CranioSacral Therapy came very easily to me. The pull of this path felt stronger than a natural progression--more like providence.

I have been published nationally and internationally in peer reviewed journals and magazines on use of therapeutic yoga in healing mind/body and addictions. I have 2 meditation CD recordings sets on the market, Love and Light and Love and Purity, and a book, Preventing Cancer and its Recurrance awaiting publishing.

A Licensed Massage Therapist with 280 hours training in Oriental Therapies, Shiatsu, Thai Yoga Massage, Ayurvedic Head Massage, Hot Stone, Chinese Cupping and Reflexology. I have also studied Acupressure Techniques and Intuitive Diagnoses with Medical Intuitive, RN, Osteopath and Acupressurist Terri Remedio. I am trained as a CranioSacral Therapist and in Feldenkrais Work and Alexander Technique.
I became a Reiki Master Teacher in 2015, and have since achieved Healing Touch Practitioner status, after 2 years as an apprentice in 2017. I have had many experiences of healing both myself and clients utilizing these methods, and have become a much more intuitive Therapist, Yoga Therapist and Massage Therapist as a result of this work. I find it to make a superb adjunct to these other therapies as well as a very effective stand-alone technique in its own right. I am quite excited about integrating it into my holistic practice, as the results have been nothing short of fantastic!
I am now additionally a CranioSacral Therapist.

My long training and certifications in yoga are matched by training in meditative techniques, healing practices and initiation in the mystical schools of Yoga, Taoism, Buddhism and Sufism. I am therefore well-trained in mindfulness meditative practices from each of these disciplines and utilize relaxation, visualization, energetic and meditative practices in counseling for a variety of purposes. These are mind/body therapies that improve functioning of neurochemistry (and therefore mental states), as well as the peripheral and autonomic nervous systems, organ systems and immunity. Their effectiveness thus has been clinically proven and I continue in research regarding neuro-plasticity. Holistic Counseling integrates these practices, where appropriate, with other therapeutic interventions. I offer various meditation series classes and retreats throughout the year for which I collect charity donations for a number of causes.

It is not my broad training or ceaseless research in mind/body and mental therapies that allow me treat the whole person. It is caring. Counseling begins with empathy and it is my job to meet you where you are on your journey. Different types of therapy work better for different folks. Together we will build a therapeutic alliance; trust and relationship for these are the bases of healing. Building upon the strength and pervasiveness of your overall wellness becomes the heart of our counseling sessions. We will collaborate and focus on the removal of obstacles, rather than on the pathology of the story.

Your happiness and peace - our common goal.
